Our seven spacious accommodation apartments are well appointed all with queen size beds. We have three family apartments one on the ground floor and two by two storey, each with two bedrooms and a separate bathroom.  There are four double apartments one on the second floor and the remaining on the ground floor. All our apartments have a kitchenette including microwave, fridge, tea & coffee and toast making facilities. Tanswell’s Hotel is Beechworth’s oldest surviving hotel, dating back to 1852, originally built after gold was discovered. In 1871 Thomas Tanswell, a convict transported to Australia in 1833, added a second level to the hotel and dubbed it “Tanswells Commercial Hotel”. Formerly known as the Bank Restaurant and Mews, Provenance Restaurant and Luxury Suites is located in the centre of Beechworth, steps away from the historic and shopping precinct.  In its previous life, the main building was the Bank of Australasia built in 1856 in response to the gold rush in the area.

While the exterior remains charmingly old fashioned, the interior of the four suites were refurbished in 2008.  Elegant and serene, the rooms offer privacy and luxury.  Each room has its own ensuite with double spas  and double rain showers.  L'occitane toiletries, bathrobes and slippers are provided.  The rooms have king size beds and luxury cotton linen, large screen television and Austar, air conditioning and heating.

Tariff includes a full cooked breakfast served in the restaurant dining room and a bottle of local sparkling on arrival and a 11 am checkout.

Provenance Restaurant is now the home of chef Michael Ryan and sommelier Jeanette Henderson, previous owners of two chef hat restaurant Range.  The restaurant is housed in the old bank building and many of its original features have been kept with 5 metre ceilings, arched windows and the granite block gold vault which now serves as the wine cellar.  Michael's food is modern regional Australian with emphasis on local seasonal produce.  The restaurant was recently reviewed in The Age epicure with a 16/20 rating and the Herald Sun with a 40/50 score.   

The dining room is open from Wednesday to Sunday nights and lunch on Sunday. Dinner, Bed and Breakfast packages are available.

Gigi's of Beechworth is an award winning, modern Italian restaurant located in Beechworth's main street, Ford Street. We are trading for a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner 5 days per week. We are closed Sunday evening, Wednesday and Thursday . We offer a fully licensed wine list spanning local and imported wines including a Giaconda cellar list back to 1994. The menu offers the freshest local and seasonal produce including our own house made sourdough, pasta and freshly roasted espresso coffee.

A southern Italian theme stems the menu but can easily take on French and Spanish influence. We site 40 in the main dining room and offer a private room of up to 20, including an outdoor courtyard.
